Maly’s Bracelet

I was honoured in summer 2008 to have an article featured on Guardian.co.uk.

The story was one of 400 entered into the Guardian International Development Competition. The competition, run by The Guardian, The Department for International Development and various charities, called for writers to investigate one specific area of international development, based on the UN Millennium Development Goals.

My article, on the theme of giving children a voice, was one of 40 features that made it to the semi-finals. It was inspired by my travels around Cambodia in July 2006, and the work of organisations I found out about later, who recognise the important influence children can have in shaping the world.
