The Guardian

The Guardian is one of the UK’s top quality newspapers. Traditionally left-wing in its editorial policy and fiercely devoted to journalism of the highest level, it’s the newspaper that many British journalists grew up with, learn from and aspire to work at.
Its opposition to corruption and sloppy standards triumphed this year when the extent of the News of the World phone hacking scandal finally came to light, after years of probing and campaigning by Guardian reporters.
Guardian.co.uk is read by millions of readers all over the world, with Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger telling the BBC: “The Guardian is getting to an audience of about 36 to 37 million [per month], so that makes us the largest English language paper on the web apart from The New York Times.”
I was honoured in summer 2008 to have an article featured on Guardian.co.uk. I had entered an international journalism competition, and reached the semi-final.
